About

Introduction:

I am an independent consultant specializing in the areas of economic development, web design/strategy, grassroots community building, and advocacy. My most recent project work was with the Economic Development Authority of Morgan County West Virginia. Our project brought high-speed Internet service to over 2000 residents and home based businesses of Morgan County and created strategies for increasing cell phone 3G service countywide. Previously, I worked for The Arlington Institute (TAI), a futures based think tank as Director of Operations. My duties at TAI included scenario generation and strategy workshops, web development, economic/financial analysis, and advocacy for issues such as peak oil, species extinction, climate change, the drinking water crisis and economic collapse. My career goals include developing ecologically based financial and economic models, building web tools for collaboration and community, and developing new uses for open source information. Soon, I hope to have more significant writings on value systems which will serve as a frame of reference to the large pool of content presented here.

My website:

My blog and website are my sounding board and advocacy platform. As I come across new and interesting links, products, services, experiences, learning opportunities, people, etc., I post it - usually with a short description. In 2009, I started taking my photography a bit more seriously and every so often I will add a new set of work to my portfolio here. I very much hope these insights and photographs make your day a little more interesting and enjoyable! Please come back often to view new photos, writings, articles and links.
